I laugh when I hear people defer to the autonomy of medical professionals. As a perfect recent example check out this story in the New York Times regarding Harvard medical school students who complained about a teacher there who was on the payroll of no less than 10 drug companies and pushing their marketing babble as fact in the classroom.
